Jay-Z Takes Subway for His Performance, Beyonce Joins Him on Stage

There aren’t too many artists as big as Jay-Z.  Jay-Z recently surprised his fans by taking the R-Train to his last concert at Barclay’s Arena.  The artist has been commissioned to help promote the start of the Brooklyn Nets franchise and their new life in New York city.

Jay jumped on the train Saturday about 6 pm, escorted by plain clothes police officers.  He also had his own security.  This led to a lot of commotion as he entered the train, as a crowd followed him all the way to his next stop.  Of course pictures were snapping the entire time, and he even stopped to talk to an old woman who was riding the train.

Fans started to scream when they saw Jay-Z get off the train and enter into the arena.  It was mayhem.  Jay-Z also surprised fans by getting his wife Beyonce to join him for his song “Crazy in Love” in the middle of the show.

The arena holds 18,200 people and was sold out all week for the concert.  Jay-Z may only own a tiny fraction of the Nets team, but he’s making a huge impact.  Some are wondering if the Nets are going to fulfill their promise of creating black jobs in the city.  We’ll see how that one goes.
