Former RHOA Cast Member Sheree Whitfield Gets Mistaken For Dead Drag Queen by TV Guide

Usually the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member who is most often mistaken for a drag queen is NeNe Leakes, but this time TV Guide mistook former RHOA regular Sheree Whitfield as a dead drag queen.

Drag queen Sahara Davenport, best known for her stint on RuPaul’s Drag Race,   died of heart failure at the age of 27. In reporting her death, TV Guide erroneously labeled a photo of Sheree as that of the deceased drag queen.

Sheree immediately tweeted TV Guide about the  mixup: “I am sorry to hear about the lost of Sahara Davenport. My condolences go out to her family. Please remove my picture from your website @TV Guide.” 

TV Guide then removed the picture and posted the following correction: Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story included a photo that was mislabeled as Sahara Davenport. TVGuide.com regrets the error.

But let’s be honest, Sheree really does bear a striking resemblance to the dead drag queen, may she rest in peace. Here is a picture of  the late Sahara Davenport:

After four season on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Sheree Whitfield decided to leave the show. In a statement after her departure, she said, “I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect. I wish the rest of the women the best of luck. I’m thrilled to say I’m now a free agent and am already fielding offers.” 

Hopefully some time in the future, Sheree will make news for what she’s doing to make a difference in the community and not some goof made  by TV Guide.
