White Cops Exonerated Of Racial Profiling Allegation Made By Tyler Perry
After a four-month investigation by the Atlanta Police Department, an internal affairs officer reported, “I would submit the evidence shows the actions of both officers with the regard to the traffic stop of Mr. Perry were justified, lawful and proper.” In February of this year, media mogul Tyler Perry alleged that he was a victim of racial profiling when two white police officers pulled him over and questioned him for six minutes before letting him go without issuing a ticket. Perry was driving a white Porshe Panamera and explained that he’d made an illegal turn to see if the officers were in fact following him. Perry described the incident as hostile and said that he felt unsafe. One of the officers continued to “badger” him during questioning, Perry said.
The report from the internal investigation said the officers were working for the auto theft task force and one officer thought Perry’s $110,000 sports car was similar to one on a list of stolen cars. The officer said that as he turned around Perry made the illegal turn. One officer, a six-year Atlanta police veteran, told investigators that he didn’t stop Perry because he was black. ”His vehicle had dark, tinted windows,” he said, according to the report. His partner, on the force for eight years, testified that he “didn’t look at the driver” before the traffic stop. Perry, whose name appears on his license as Emmitt Perry Jr., said on his Facebook post that he explained to the officers that he was trying to make sure he wasn’t being followed. One of the officers told investigators he was concerned about Perry’s mental state because of his “actions and body languages.” An African American officer who was called to the scene and arrived in a second patrol car, recognized Perry and asked one of the other officers whether he knew how famous Perry is. The car likely wasn’t stolen because “the guy was a billionaire,” the officer told his colleagues, explaining that Perry made movies.
On the recording of the radio traffic that night, one of the two white officers is heard to say, “I really didn’t know who that dude was.” The African American officer asked Perry what model year his Porsche was and figured out it was newer than the car police had listed as stolen. The officers said they never intended to issue a traffic ticket but wanted to check the car’s identification number. The white officers were admonished for not calling in the traffic stop to a dispatcher. The investigator also said it was debatable as to whether one of the officers should have reached into Perry”s vehicle in an attempt to turn off the engine. The report said that there was no dashboard camera in either patrol car. Police didn’t interview Perry personally, but used his Facebook statement as evidence, investigators said.
A representative for Perry said he was unavailable. ”Tyler Perry is out of the country and unable to comment at this time,” said spokeswoman Keleigh Thomas.

No love for poor blacks or rich blacks…No matter what you have or don’t have, you (me) will always be N….. to them and whoever believes otherwise is CRAZY
Jody,
I couldn’t agree with you more!!! Because after all we live in the great United States of Amerikkka!
Lets be real, Yes racial profiling do happens, but in this case these two fine officers did there job correctly, Mr perry was not reconize as a big movie star, even if the police officers did reconize who you was after being stop, you broke the law period…Good job Officers.
I guarantee you had she been an emaciated White woman with blonde hair, blue eyes and some paid for breast, this turn would never have been on they radar.
Charles if you’re a Black man, I sure hope you never get stopped by the police driving an expensive car they couldn’t afford to buy with 3 years of their salary. I’m sure you’ll learn real quick what a good job officers do. (SMH)
I am sure Charles is not a Black man by his comment. The comment also reveals that he is uninformed on policing procedures and the fact that the officers were admonished for not calling the license plate in to dispatch to check if it was stolen went over his head. All he saw was RACIAL PROFILING and wanted to add his 2 cents as if it doesn’t exist. Just that fact that they do that proves to me racism is alive and well.
If you throw a rock into a crowd the only person that will scream is the one that got hit. Trust me.
I am so sick and tired of stupid a*s white people and their stupid a*s racist ways. They didn’t call in dispatch because doing so would have proven TP was legit. What fun would that be? They would have no cause to harass him. And they do this c**p knowing they will get away with it if there is an investigation. Come on, they don’t respect Barack Obama, why would they respect TP. Didn’t this same s**t happen to Chris Tucker a few years back when he was driving in GA? Come to think of it, almost the same thing happened to my black a*s down here in Hays County, Texas. Only thing is, I wasn’t driving a porche but I did spend the night in jail, for supposedly “running some lil ole lady of the road” according to Hays County PO PO. At least the black cop tried to educate their stupid a***s, for all the good it did. Black people should start looking to turn the tides and give’em a taste of their own d**n medicine. d**n, I wish Malcolm X was still alive. I am tired of this turning the other cheek c**p.
