Stevie Wonder Apologizes for Saying Frank Ocean is Confused and not Gay
Stevie Wonder recently made some comments, in an interview, which landed him in some hot soup. The legend of all things music has issued an apology and has made an attempt at clarifying what he meant when he implied that Frank Ocean, an R & B singer, was confused and not really gay.
Frank Ocean made his own headlines recently when he shared that his first love was a male.
Wonder spoke with The Guardian about Frank Ocean and it was then that he spoke highly of Ocean’s music but said “some people who think they’re gay, they’re confused.”
Wonder went on to say,
“People can misconstrue closeness for love. People can feel connected, they bond. I’m not saying all [gay people are confused]. Some people have a desire to be with the same s*x. But that’s them.”
Stevie Wonder may not have expected it, but what he said about Ocean flooded the media, compelling him to make a statement. In a statement to The Advocate, Stevie Wonder said,
“I’m sorry that my words about anyone feeling confused about their love were misunderstood,”
Wonder went on to say,
“No one has been a greater advocate for the power of love in this world than I; both in my life and in my music. Clearly, love is love, between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, a woman and a woman and a man and a man. What I’m not confused about is the world needing much more love, no hate, no prejudice, no bigotry and more unity, peace and understanding. Period.”
There have been no reports about Ocean reacting to Wonder’s initial comments, nor his apology.

There are times when a misprint can turn everything that was said, upside down… A lot of our media is very good at that and they continue to give us a lot of misinformed information… What I always have to remember is; people are people and some of us can say whatever we want to say and it’s accepted, because of who we are and the power they have over the media!!!
I read his initial comment on this subject. He did not say Frank Ocean was confused rather than gay. He said this in a general sense. He had nothing to apologized for. He stated that some people are actually gay, some are not. There is this motivation to blend being gay into mainstream of American life. If you are gay, then by all means be so. But if you are being gay for false reasons, then by all means, you are not gay. I do not trust some gay people’s reasons for encouraging homosexuality. You really are, or you really not. And that is all there is to this. Nothing more….nothing less.
