Jay-Z and Beyoncé To Host Fundraiser For President Obama At $40K/Ticket
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have been avid supporters of the President since 2008. The couple toured across the nation advocating for the President and challenging the youth to register to vote and support then-Senator Obama. This election year, they’re taking their support to another level by hosting a fundraiser to support the President at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club on September 18. The price for a ticket at this event is $40,000/ticket. The event is slated to host 100 people, which will generate $4,000,000 for the Obama Campaign- if all tickets are sold.
President Obama made a surprise appearance via video at the Jay-Z’s Made in America Festival in Philadelphia over the Memorial Day weekend. The President’s ties to pop-culture are a constant reminder of his attempt to appeal to the younger demographic market of voters.
The President challenged donors who were offered a chance to win “Dinner with Barack,” by allowing them to invite a celebrity guest that they’d like to join the dinner. The challenge has brought forth celebrity guests George Clooney, Sarah Jessica Parker, and former President Bill Clinton. Since then, Parker and Vogue editor Anna Wintour have hosted their own fundraising dinners at Parker’s home in NYC for 50 guests at $40,000/ticket. In addition to the dinner at Parker’s home, Mariah Carey performed during dinner at Plaza Hotel for 250 guests at $10,000/ticket. The celebrity dinner fundraisers have racked in millions of dollars for President Obama’s campaign. We’re sure Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s event won’t fall short of success.
