It’s Over: Chad Johnson Finally Filed Divorce Papers

Chad Johnson has filed divorce docs in which he admits the marriage is "irretrievably broken"

After snubbing his Twitter followers for asking him if Evelyn Lozada has divorced him, Chad Johnson has finally filed divorce documents in which he admits the union is “irretrievably broken,” according to reports.

Johnson filed the papers yesterday in a Florida court in response to the document his soon-to-be ex-wife Evelyn filed back on August 14. The divorce documents reveal that the two have a prenup, in which Johnson believes should be enforced — especially the part about who pays for the lawyers.

According to the docs, Johnson wants a judge to block Evelyn’s request that Chad foot the bill for her legal fees, highlighting a provision in the prenup in which the two sides agreed to pay their own way if they were to split up. The divorce has not been finalized yet. Sources close to Lozada told reporters she’s “ecstatic” and ready to move on. Evelyn and Chad were married back in July, but the relationship ended a month later when Chad allegedly headbutted Evelyn during a heated argument over a condom receipt she found in his car.

Last week, Johnson updated his Twitter avatar with a photo of himself with a picture of Lozada’s face tattooed on his right leg. In addition to having her face tattooed on him, he has the name “Eve” located underneath her picture. Of course a large majority of his Twitter followers reacted unfavorably to his tattoo. Fans even mocked him saying they didn’t understand why the former Miami Dolphins wide receiver got the tattoo after their divorce. Johnson snapped back at fans and tweeted: “Divorce? Child please… that’s my WIFE RT”  He then followed up with another tweet further downplaying his ex-wife’s divorce. “I dont give a flying pretzel in skittle rainbow h**l what she filed for… RT,” he tweeted.

Divorce causes major issues with health insurance benefits. Many families have employer provided and/or paid for health insurance benefits that cover the entire family. It is not uncommon to see situations where the other spouse is a stay at home parent, with absolutely no access to health insurance benefits, or employed at a job with either no health insurance benefits available or those benefits available at a substantial cost. After a divorce, the spouse with the family health insurance coverage can no longer cover the other parent. They are no longer “family” members who can take advantage of one health insurance policy. How to then ensure that everyone stays insured does become an issue for negotiation and/or divorce litigation.”..
