Chris Brown Hosts an Event for Domestic Violence Victims
Is Chris Brown the right man for this job? Well, it depends on who you ask. Some scoffed at the announcement that Brown was going to go face-to-face with domestic violence victims, saying that the only thing he wants to do is hit them in the face. But others felt that the move could be good for his soul and his image.
This week, it went down. Chris met with a group of domestic violence victims as the host of a back-to-school event where the proceeds went to charity.
Chris made the appearance on behalf of the Jenesse Center and youth advocacy group, The Change.
“It’s in my heart to show my fans, my friends and family and the families at Jenesse who stood by me they were right to give met another chance. I’m working hard to make them proud,” he said.
Chris got major kudos from Karen Earl, the founder of the organization. She states that Brown and his mother, Joyce Hawkins have done wonderful work for the charity. Chris’ mother was a victim of domestic violence herself, which may have been an influence in the singer’s decision to beat his ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009.
“Chris and his mom have spent many quiet hours at our facilities, no cameras, no special attention or entourages,” Earl said.
Is Chris changing his ways? We’re not sure. But this probably helps him at least settle the terms of his probation.

Chris – continue giving back to your community. I was a Crisis Center volunteer for Abused Women. A word to the wise: you don’t have to give your life. Those who are giving you negative press, are not your friends. It takes time and experience to build up lasting relationships. Rihana is a danger to you. Don’t let her lure you back with her sexuality. If you care for her and yourself break it off, stop it. She will have you in jail at the first seemingly wrong thing you do.
Take your time, don’t be in a hurry to please everyone. The type of life you lead and live will be the determining factor on what people think of you. Keep your nose clean and don’t let success guide you down the wrong pass. LISTEN: YOU DON’T OWE RIHANNA ONE THING. YOU HAVE PAID YOUR DUES IN THAT CORNER OF YOUR LIFE. DON’T BE SUCKED INTO HER ENVIRONMENT. MAY GOD BLESS YOU!
Whether he did it to satisfy the terms of his probation or not he is helping others and should be commended for that. Hopefully, Chris realizes that once a beater doesn’t mean you have to stay a beater.
