New Black Panther Party To Followers: “We’re Under Siege By The Republican National Convention”
The chief of staff for the New Black Panther Party told listeners of the Black Power Radio, who are in Tampa, Florida to beware of the Republican National Convention.
“In the city of Tampa, we are under siege by the Republican National Convention, headers of this collective-minded group of white people, tea partiers, tea baggers, people who hate black people,” Michelle Williams warned listeners.”Black people have to stay in our homes,” she said. “They don’t want any presence of anybody who looks like me, walks like me and talks like me to be anywhere near the Republican National Convention. The Republicans hate black people.”
The New Black Panther Party, created in Dallas, Texas, by Aaron Michaels, has no relation to the original Black Panther Party, and are considered to be a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Federal authorities filed a lawsuit against the organization in 2008 for “intimidating” African American voters at polls in Philadelphia during the 2008 presidential election.
The Justice Department dropped the lawsuit due to a lack of claims of intimidation by the voters. Most conservatives believe the suit was dropped for political reasons, claiming Attorney General Eric Holder only prosecutes white people for civil rights violations.
