LL Cool J Broke Burglar’s Nose, Jaw, And Ribs

Earlier this week we reported that the s*x-symbol/G.O.A.T., LL Cool J fought head-on with a burglar who broke into his home in LA. At the time we reported the incident, the burglar’s injuries were unknown. Today we’ve learned the burglar has suffered a broken nose, jaw, and ribs from the incident.

Jonathan Kirby, 56, faces a long prison sentence due to his history of criminal activity if convicted of breaking into the hip-hop legend’s home. Prosecutors charged Kirby with first degree burglary as a “third striker,” which means he could face 38 years to life in prison if convicted, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.

Kirby was previously convicted of voluntary manslaughter in Dallas, Texas, in 1988. He also has auto theft, first degree burglary and a petty theft conviction in Los Angeles on his record, Gibbons said. Arraignment for Kirby has not been set because he is being hospitalized for treatment of his injuries inflicted by LL Cool J when he “physically detained” him.

The family was sleeping when their home security alarm sounded at 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning, sending LL Cool J to detain the suspect according to a Los Angeles Police statement. This isn’t the first time LL Cool J has used his muscle power to kick b**t. When he and comedian/singer/actor Jamie Foxx got into a scuffle on the scene of the “Any Given Sunday” film, sources say LL Cool J won the fight, leaving Foxx with a cut to his forehead.
