Vanessa Bryant is going to be more careful about what she says when she is being interviewed. The wife of the NBA basketball player, Kobe Bryant, got a lot of negative feedback after she made some comments in an interview with New York magazine. The interview was about the wives of NBA stars.

In the interview, Bryant said,

“I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships. If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year.”

No sooner had Bryant made the comments, the media was buzzing with many being offended by her comments and some even calling her a gold digger. The negative feedback was so significant that it led to Bryant, who does not usually speak out to the public, to release a statement.

In her statement to TMZ, Bryant said:

“I’m sad to hear that comments in my New York Magazine interview are being misconstrued and taken out of context. I have and will continue to support my husband’s dreams. I have been with Kobe for 13 years. I accepted his marriage proposal PRIOR to him winning any of his 5 championships with his teammates.

For anyone to think otherwise is wrong. It is not about being married to a ‘winner’ it is about our sacrifice as a family.”

An online magazine, necolebitchie.com, has confirmed her statement that she accepted Kobe’s proposal before he was an NBA champion-Kobe proposed to Vanessa just one month before he won his first NBA Championship in 2000.

At the end of last year, Vanessa filed for divorce but her and Kobe have since decided to work out their differences.

  1. I understand Vanessa’s position. She is alone most of the time taking care of the family. At these times, Kobe is not home, he is away playing basketball. We all know Kobe has made a lot of money. So, if he is out playing basketball, getting a championship is the goal. Today, he is not playing for money. His family would love him to spend more time with them. It is not about the money you make for your family, it is about the time you spend with them. Vanessa, you are doing a great job taking care of the home front! It is okay to desire your man to spend more time with you and the children.

    • So you think she’s not a digger, how so? She was one when they married and she still is! She took her family on a shopping spree before he even married this woman! And then when they seperated, she allowed her mother to stay in one of Kobe’s houses! She is no better than a gold digging leach! The general public know if she was black , they would be calling this woman with a horrible attitude the b word!

      • I agree! Kobe’s dad told him NOT TO MARRY that bytch! It’s amazing, how these other races can look like angels, but deep down inside they’re the devi, plus negroid fe-males ALWAYS side with them.

This heffa might not be a gold digger, but she sure is a diamond, silver, shoe, mansion, car, truck, clothes, and fur digger!

        CHECK!

  2. I am happy to see them work out their indifference’s and remain together as a family. They make an awfully cute couple – both of them look nice. If she married him before he had the big duckies I am sure she loved him for him. Him winning and bringing in the big duckies certainly adds or enhances the relationship. Only a liar or a fool would think or say otherwise. I wish them many years of togetherness and happiness.
Why not enjoy the rich life, many can’t but for those that can, do it.

  3. would she marry kobe if he wasen’t a basketball player.

  4. If she is a Gold Digger, who's gold is she digging? It's not YOURS. So SHUT UP! SMH!

  5. Attention Broke Folks: It’s not YOUR money. So SHUT UP and get a job ! SMH !

  6. For sure,..she did accept his proposal before the championships came about, as a high schooler no less, but Kobe was still making the big bucks before he won a ring and was considered “the catch” to land. I too disagree that the gold digger name applies to her, but she was smart enough to know a meal ticket when she saw one.

  7. Kobe Bryant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as the youngest of three children and the only son of former Philadelphia 76ers player and former Los Angeles Sparks head coach Joe “Jellybean” Bryant and Pamela Cox Bryant. He is also the maternal nephew of John “Chubby” Cox. His parents named him after the famous beef of Kobe, Japan, which they saw on a restaurant menu.,-‘,

  9. English is widely spoken, particularly for official business
functions, as well as Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. You must not pass
up to be able to explore the colourful world that lies beneath
the water, beyond our sight. Also, an ideal way to see the picturesque landscape in this field generally is a day cruise to
relish every one of the musandam – Peninsula needs to offer.
