Last week Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network hit the jackpot when the queen of all media interviewed Rihanna. The interview was highly anticipated as many were curious about what exactly was going on with Riri and Chris Brown as rumors swirled about a reunion.

Now, it seems Winfrey wants to keep the momentum going for her series, ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’,  by nailing an interview with American Idol favorite and Oscar and Grammy winning star, Jennifer Hudson. Adding to her upcoming interview with Olympic gold medalist, Gabby Douglas, the former talk show host has confirmed that she will also be interviewing Jennifer Hudson, fondly known as J-Hud.

According to a press release issued by the OWN Network channel, on September 9, Jennifer Hudson will be the first guest on  ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ fall season. The month of September’s new programming schedule will also bring new episodes of the network favorite series ‘Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s’.

Husdon is in the middle of filming for her role in ‘Smash,’ which is in its second season. The singer and actress will still be in the middle of filming when she sits down with Winfrey. She describes her role in the series as a “perfect opportunity.”

In an interview with the Associated Press, Hudson shared,

“It’s gonna be challenging, and I’m a little bit intimidated to play this big Broadway star but it’s gonna be a great experience. I can’t wait to get started.”

The last time Winfrey interviewed Hudson, Hudson was two hours late for the taping and Winfrey was visibly displeased. Winfrey is reported to have told Hudson:

“I don’t appreciate it. I think that that was not a good decision on your part. But you’ll learn from that.”

Hudson reportedly assured Winfrey, “‘it will never happen again, and I learned from it.’

It will be interesting to hear what has been going on in Jennifer Hudson’s life lately.
