Is Rihanna Defending Chris Brown During Her Interview with Oprah Winfrey?
It almost sounds like Rihanna is defending Chris Brown in her recent interview with Oprah Winfrey. During the interview, the singer opens up about the night during which Brown beat her to a b****y pulp. She says that Chris was being unfairly demonized, rather than receiving the sympathy that she believes he deserved.
“I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in,” she said. “Because as angry as I was – as angry and hurt and betrayed – I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help. And who’s going to help him? Nobody’s going to say he needs help, everybody’s going to say he’s a monster, without looking at the source. And I was more concerned about him.”
Oprah has been doing a lot of interesting interviews lately with people she never would have spoken with a few years ago. Some say that she is willing to speak with anyone who can generate ratings for her. Rihanna is the latest after 50 Cent, Kim Kardashian and a few others interesting notables.
Oprah, during the preview for the show, is seen asking other questions, such as, “Do you think Chris Brown is a true love for you?” and “Where does your relationship stand today?”
The clip then shows Oprah’s surprise at some of the answers, likely another ploy to ensure that you tune in.
“I would have never thought that. You just shocked me,” she says.
The interview was filmed on August 5 in Rihanna’s home country of Barbados.
“I went there with my own ideas about who she was from watching her videos and listening to her music,” Oprah said. “I thought she was gonna be kind of a bada**, a kind of hard edged, rocker, pop woman. Nothing could have been farther from the truth.”

She may not necessarily be defending him, but she knows first hand what caused the situation to escalate, he had no right to assault her but he , as a young man, maybe did not know how to control his anger in that given circumstance and since he has been vilified she probably feels some responsibility.
So let me get this straight. You have not seen Oprah’s interview; the only information that you have concerning Chris Brown’s attack on Rhianna is what was offered through the media; and even after the pictures were released you use terms such as “beat to a b****y pulp.” This is low grade sensationalist opinionated blabber that toes the line of bashing Rhianna for a very human response to what is, unfortunately, a very human experience. I read YBW daily, but you criticize Oprah for attempting to generate viewership by using standard industy marketing tactics while you oversensationalize a very real situation with little to no evidence to support your claims. Do you homework before publishing this type of subpar reporting because this is destructive to various sensitive issues that must be addressed in our society–domestic abuse, being raised in abusive homes, reconciliation, forgiveness, etc. YBW is better than this.

I feel that the girl loves him. Their are some people who feel “if you don’t beat me, you don’t love me” We don’t know the inside story. Chris was really our of order. He could have walked away. I use to work with a lady who always did things to her boyfriend to make him beat her and when she came back to work, she would show us all what he had done to her. (She was over joyes when she told her story). The last thing that she did was to go on vacation and came back and told her boyfriend who she had laid with and how it felt. He beat her into a coma, and she died happily. Rhianna is a very beautiful young lady that needs help before it is too late. I can not say it was her or him. But there are a lot of people out there like them. Opra can only bring out the story.
This is too crazy and funny to be sad…..But I know it is the honest truth.
