Lafayette College Freshman Found Dead After Drinking Too Much
A 19 year old freshmen is dead after consuming too much alcohol during his birthday celebration. Everett Glenn, 19, was a successful freshman at Lafayette College, but died Saturday night from cardiac arrest caused by too much alcohol consumption, according to the Express Times.
Glenn’s mother says her son drank too much while celebrating his birthday then went to bed, face up. Emergency room doctors informed her that Glenn passed away from cardiac arrest.
Alcohol can cause an arrhythmia, which can lead to sudden death. In fact, development of atrial fibrillation after an episode of heavy alcohol intake is sometimes called “holiday heart syndrome.”
According to the police report, Glenn was found early Sunday afternoon in his residence hall and transported to a residence hall, where he was pronounced dead.
