Hunger Games
Some time ago I was observing the behavior of myself and co workers and I saw some very interesting things. I sparked up a conversation with a buddy at work and it quickly turned to the subject of passion and desire. It was interesting to hear and share different points of view and enjoy the information. We started comparing passion and desire to the raw nature of being hungry. I thought it funny that those two base functions have so much in common. I began to share that whenever you are in the room with a person who is hungry physically there are certain things that are evident. There is no mistaking that fact. Everything revolves around that hunger! They interrupt the conversation and cause you to rearrange everything around the fact that they are starving. Likewise when you walk into the room with someone who possesses passion or desire the same happens. All you hear about is how ‘hungry’ they are to see their dreams come to pass! Any and everyone has to cater to that starving nature within them.
When we began to head back to our busy day and I made a last comment about wild lions. I asked if he knew the best way to domesticate a wild animal. He laughed and said he wasn’t really sure and I shared that I’d done some research and found that zoo keepers begin a regiment of feeding the animal immediately after capture. Why? Because nothing can strip them of their inner power faster than when they are handed what they used to hunt. That’s why animals at the zoo are very rarely aggressive. They’ve gotten used to being fed. Their base hungry nature to track, hunt and kill their prey has been robbed and they ultimately learn to sit and wait for dinner!
I keep this in mind constantly. Not because I have aspirations of becoming a zoo keeper, but I am very intent on maintaining my hunger to achieve more! In fact, throughout the course of life, I keep two questions at the forefront of my mind.
I will ask these two questions of you as well,,,,,are you still hungry or have
you allowed the system to around you to keep you fed?
See you at the top!
