He has been frank when talking about his troubled past before, but it seems Cee Lo Green kept a dark secret under wraps.
The singer and coach on The Voice was arrested in July 2001 for allegedly threatening his then-wife Christina Johnson.
The 37-year-old was then rearrested for skipping his court appearance two months later.

Cee Lo, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Gallaway, had been living with Christina in Fayetteville, a suburb in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to court documents obtained by Star magazine and Radar Online, the pair, who married in March 2000, got into a dispute in July 2001 and Christina called the police ‘in reasonable apprehension of receiving violent injury’.
Cee Lo had brandished a wooden statue as the couple argued outside and when Christina went into the house, she hears sounds of breaking glass.
Later it was discovered that Cee Lo had smashed the windows of the couple’s Jaguar before leaving.

While he was released that day after setting $2,800 bail, the star failed to show up to his September court date and was arrested again two days after that.
CeeLo then spent two days in jail before pleading ‘no contest’ to his disorderly conduct charge and being placed on probation for 12 months.
He also had to attend domestic violence counselling and was subjected to random drug and alcohol testing.
