Nancy Jenkins, a bus driver in the Bronx, has a very disturbing complaint about her boss. The driver says that her manager licked her entire face without permission.
“He stuck out his tongue and licked me from under my chin all the way up to my eyebrow,” Jenkins said. “It was just so nasty.”
Jenkins claims that it all went down on April 9th at the Kingsbridge Depot after she’d become upset about something the manager said. After the incident, Jenkins filed a complaint with the Mass Transit Authority for sexual harassment. MTA spokesman Charles Seaton said that the supervisor has been transferred.
“We take all such allegations extremely seriously. The report of this incident is under investigation.”
“It was unbearable,” Jenkins said. “Everyone was talking about it, making jokes. It just broke me down.”
TWU Local 100 President John Samuelsen says that the manager should have been either fired or suspended after the incident.
“If a bus driver licked a supervisor on the face, that driver would have been suspended immediately and then arrested and dragged off the property in handcuffs,” Samuelsen said. “There’s an institutional history of disparate treatment of workers as opposed to bosses at the MTA.”
