Tupac’s Mother Gives Green Light To Musical Based On Rapper’s Music

Legendry director Kenny Leon, who has also worked with Denzel Washington and Alicia Keys, was given the green light when Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur saw a preview of the musical named, Holla If You Hear Me.

According to TMZ, the Leon will be taking the music and life of Tupac to the stage, sometime this year.

Leon said he was inspired by the ‘Changes’ rapper who died in a drive by shooting 16 years ago. He said: “I always thought that Tupac was a prophet and I thought if everybody could hear his words and hear his stories, they would see what I see.”

The musical tells the story of two childhood friends, John and Vertus, and their extended families as they struggle to reconciles the challenges of the reality of their daily lives and future ambitions.

  1. The current Verizon commercial is disturbing. It features a black boy calling a white girl “boss.” That’s gives Blacks and especially Black kids inferiority complex. Specifically, black kids may assume that white kids are superior to black kids. This ad is offensive to black kids. I am asking Verizon to pull out the commercial.
