Can Nick Cannon pull off a classic? The father and host of ‘America’s Got Talent’ is set to create a film that will serve as a remake of the 90’s hit House Party. This is the first time the actor, who recently suffered from kidney failure, will step into the director’s chair.

“[I’m] taking a lot of young hip-hop acts of today and putting them in a movie with a bunch of comedians, make something happen there,” said Cannon at Bleu magazine’s cover party, where he was hailed “Man of the Year.”

Cannon didn’t reveal who he’ll be including in the project, which is being distributed through Lionsgate, but we’re sure his protégé Cory Guns will have a great role.

It would be great if he could get some cameos from the original stars.
