Normally politicians greet one another with pleasantries, even if they don’t particularly like each other. Not so Wednesday with President Barack Obama and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who met Air Force One when it touched down outside of Phoenix.

It was clear from the moment they greeted one another on the tarmac that this wouldn’t me your typical grip and grin. At one point, she was pointing her finger at him, and at another, they were talking at the same time, seemingly over each other. Then he appeared to walk away from her while she was still talking.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer points at President Barack Obama after he arrives at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

It started when she handed him a letter and said she was inviting him to meet with her. The president replied that he’d be glad to meet with her again “but did note that after their last meeting, a cordial discussion in the Oval Office, the governor inaccurately described the meeting in her book,” a senior administration official said.

He was referring to her book, “Scorpions for Breakfast,” which is harshly critical of the president. The pair has clashed sharply on immigration policy, with the Obama administration suing Arizona to block its enforcement measure. In the book, she described an Oval Office meeting, and claimed he was lecturing and patronizing, something the White House says is not true.

  1. You see – these old white women think President Obama is their son. That’s true with elderly Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. She thinks President Obama is her son. She has no manners at all to confront President Obama with a finger like that. Excellent job for President Obama to ignore her. And where were the secret service agent to put town Brewer’s finger. What is the big deal with her book anyway? Is it how to brew beer in Arizona? Shame on Brewer. Let’s focus on voting for President Obama in November.

  2. they all think that because he’s black he’s their personal slave. she would never diss a white president like that. i don’t blame him for walking away! who does she think she is? re*-elect president obama!

  3. I dont know. He’s always acting real cool but he’s not. Acting like a he’s thinks he is better. The lady is right telling him that and he’s not good.

  4. Sorry for all my typos. I’m just so angry right now that I couldn’t type straight and was being interrupted. But here’s what I think; Obama is getting what he deserves now. He’s turned out to be a big disappointment and he’s gotten to the point of being an embarrassment for us. Maybe Jan Brewer shouldn’t have gotten so angry in public with him but he IS arrogant and very negative towards the whole country. I think that really, he is out of touch with people and especially with the black community. We need a president with real experience who knows all the ins/outs in govt and how to run things and put the country back on track. A conservative!

    • Tess, you didn’t have to tell anyone you were a conservative. I don’t really care what you are but anyone who disrespect the President of the United States like that is a disgrace to the conservative base. You can dislike a person and not disrespect them. You need to get some facts about Africian Americans and arrogance, and negative and real experience. being Black in America is experience enough to understand the struggles we’ve experienced and to say that Mr. Obama is out of touch is a clear case of ……….!

  5. now if first lady michelle pushes her i suppose there would really be a problem. the house speaker, the az governor…….all should and and don’t show their president no respect. ridiculous
