EURweb has exclusively learned the cause of death of R&B singer Vesta Williams, who died in her sleep in a California hotel room on Sept. 22, 2011.

Singer Norwood Young received word from members of Vesta’s family that the beloved singer passed away from complications of an enlarged heart. The Williams family was given the autopsy report a “day or two ago” according to Young.

“Although it’s a sad situation overall, it’s great news to find that Vesta’s death, as I said from the very beginning, was not drug related,” Young , who was a good friend of the R&B singer, told EUR’s Lee Bailey. “Vesta did indeed die from an enlarged heart. As we know, an enlarged heart can remain undetected in the body for many, many years.”

  1. Underrated singer. R.I.P. Beautiful songbird.

  2. So what may have caused an enlarged heart or do Black women just have this? This does not explain anything and the people that wrote this article should investigate this more before reporting this jibberish. Is this a condition that we and Black folks can add to the laundry list of conditions that we ignore till it is too late?

    • Yes Chrystal add it to the list young lady. My oldest brother and sister both died from Congested heart failure. And enlarged heart is the problem. It works so hard that it can just quit with so much pressure. It’s not like a heart attack were you feel pain, it’s just that your heart will stop. My oldest living sister and my mom both have this disease. It is very common in black people. Some whites have it but they tend to live longer than us any way. Strengthen your heart mind body and soul.
