Eric James Borges, a member of the LGBT community has taken his own life. Borges was a film-maker who, just one month ago, made a video for victims of prejudice and hatred against gays titled, “It Gets Better.”
In the video, Eric James, as he was known by people close to him, told of his life journey and the struggle of issues surrounding his sexual orientation. He recently revealed his sexuality and his ‘spiritual, emotional, and sexual’ attraction to men. Borges also explained that he had long been tormented by people who assumed that he was gay. Even his mother performed an exorcism on him and forbade him from living with her anymore.
”My anxiety, depression, self-loathing and suicidal thoughts spiked I had nowhere safe to go, either at home or school… My parents told me that, among other things, I was disgusting, perverted, unnatural and damned to Hell. About two months ago they officially kicked me out of my house.”
Eric James Borges was a 19 year old Californian.
