Nick Cannon back at work, talks health with Howard Stern
Nick Cannon chatted with Howard Stern this morning and explained exactly what happened during his recent health scare.
On his first day back on 92.3 NOW radio in New York, Cannon said his doctors originally thought he had gotten acute mountain sickness while in Aspen over the holidays with wife Mariah Carey and “dem babies,” twins Roc and Roe.
Then they realized it was more serious than that. “They thought it was kidney stones … then a kidney infection,” explained Cannon. “They found out my kidneys weren’t functioning well.” But he adds, “We didn’t want to say ‘kidney failure’ so people would think I gotta get new kidneys and Gary Coleman and all that stuff, so we said ‘mild kidney failure.’ ”

Nick I too have SLE Lupus, SLE Seleraderma, Raynaunds, along with other connective tissue diseases. Hang in there my brother, your family is beautiful. Stay positive, attitude is everything. Also, education, especially in minority communities. I myself have had two pericardia heart surgeries, as well as tumors in my hands and fluid build up. I embrace my Lupus and continue to live. We have no control over the disease, our lives change in an instant; but its a beautiful thing when you can share good thoughts with your lupus family and encourage inner strength.
