Four Former NFL Players File Lawsuits Alleging Brain Damage
Four former players in the National Football League, including two who played in the Pro Bowl, are suing the NFL for brain damage. The players claim that they are now facing serious medical issues as a result of their years in the league.
Dorsey Levens and Jamal Lewis, Fulton Kuykendall and Ryan Stewart filed suit against the NFL and NFL Properties LLC in US District Court in Atlanta. The suit claims, as have some others, that the NFL failed to warn the players of the damage their brains could sustain as a result of their play on the field.
The suit also claims that the NFL knew about the psychological issues as far back as the 1920s but didn’t make their knowledge public until 2010.
