Mr. Obama is not our friend and he will never be!
The first thing we need (which we should have had centuries ago), is a Truth and Reconciliation Commission similar to that of South Africa. We need to sit down with the white dominant nation and get it all out. We need to have the corrupt elite-owned media confess their role in constantly brainwashing, demeaning, and dehumanizing us. This must be broadcasted in its entirety on all pertinent media stations, etc. We need to get all of our ‘ducks in a row’ so to speak and try to help our fellow “black” brothers and sisters to understand just what we have been, and are up against today! (For many the picture is not clear)! During these hearings we need to speak out about the way this corrupt police state destroys black leadership and we need to force the overtly “white” powerful policing -structure to agree to our creating our own self policing agency to help begin correcting the wrong doings and misguided directions our wayward brothers and sisters are facing mostly because they are influenced and ‘brainwashed’ by the atmosphere of this capitalistic, racist, greed-ridden self-centered, sadistic, an overtly evil social structure, which is again promoted by a corrupt elite-owned media machine. One of our biggest problems is our inability to control and manage our own community. We haven’t been able to stop racist government and local officials from abusing us in many ways including the beatings, shootings and incarcerations. We would truly do well to follow the Jewish/Israeli model. We could accomplish great strides if we can get past the blockades the white-supremacist community is constantly placing in our paths. As for Mr. Obama. He is a politician. He knows who is protecting him and where his bread is buttered! He is in the business of enriching himself and his family and when he is done serving the elite and has hoarded his probable billion-dollar cash cow in an offshore account he will continue hoarding and enriching his family without doing anything to affect the condition of a ‘US’ black community that is constantly under attack by a gruesome elite white-supremacist community and their cohorts. At this point he is serving this elite structure that is attacking blacks all across the African Diaspora and stealing their resources while driving them deeper into poverty and supporting deathly attacks. We should understand just how well the elite have improved their psychological weapons in getting people within a country to attack each other and then using the group they supported to rob the country and its people. They do it around the world and they can do it here! Keep up the good work Dr. Boyce. The more enlightenment you receive, the less you will be favored and the more you will see the difficulties of madness and mass brainwashing we face.
In other words what you are saying we Blacks should organize ourselves and start another Black Wall Street like the Black Wall Street of Tulsa, OK …many years ago….

The president that addresses the issues of incarceration; particularly as it relates to the drug culture and education within the Black community (particularly young males) will be the nation’s first Black president regardless of his/her race. Non-violent drug offenders’ records should be expunged if they can show that they are crime free for a period of time because felons find it difficult to become gainfully employed after a conviction; so reintegration is almost impossible. And it’s downright unfair–after facilitating the delivery of these contaminants into many of our communities and tempting the inhabitants–for our government/s to burden people with years of incarceration and then years of parole. (I just can’t see how the drug demand could be supplied by any other entity smaller and less resourced than the government. From Maine to Florida, Georgia to New Mexico, Arizona to Washington, Idaho to Kentucky…the demand is too great. This is more than any Mexican cartels)
The high school drop out rate for Blacks is, in many inner cities, over 50%. If this were White America this would be cause for national alarm. But for Blacks it’s obviously not. So what does that say? To me it says that America, as a nation, does not take muck stock in Black people and does not need us for America’s sustenance. Otherwise would you not train yours sons to make your family stronger…more viable? Neglecting the development of a certain populace of your nation can only mean that they are not needed.

I totally agree with you an others who refuse to accept the hype from Obama. Let’s add First Lady Michelle in the pot too. Both has continued to ignore all issues specific to the well being of Blacks, our families and issues specific to us. He happily address issues and sign mandates benefiting other minorities, but continues to ignore ours! Obama has perfected the art of a_ _ kissn with racist who continue to kick his a_ _ while he continually beg them to let him. The only time Obama took a stand was to make the comment, “He’s President for ALL PEOPLE and won’t have a Black Agenda!”
His worthless wife stays grinnin and takes on only safe issues that won’t rock the boat or piss off the same racist whites an minorities who hate Blacks. She has ran from real issues like the Black women jailed for simply sending their children to better schools, or highlighting and stopping the genocide resulting from US Black neighborhoods where Black families are dying because of toxic exposure from chemicals under their houses, in their water and soil where they’re eating toxic vegs grown in their gardens.
It’s time we call out the likes of Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner and the rest of these self-serving folks who attack anyone who speaks out against Obama and his worthless cowardly Presidency who only now have the nerve to do an African American Policy Conference which we all know is for the benefit of his re-election. You can fool some of the Blacks all the time, but you can’t fool the smart informed Blacks none of the time!
President Obama’s concern for an African American Policy Conference is clearly hype! The President’s administration has stood for what is important: (1) promote Islam and Sheria Law, (2) legalizing gay marriage and lifestyle, (3) promote Planned Parenthood agenda to abort (kill) babies with 100% tax financing, (4) promote illegal immigration over the rights and priviledges of U.S. citizens, and (5) bailing out any corporation for the asking. God (our Creator), Christianty, legal American citizens–especially Black Americans are not important to the Obama Administration! How many American Blacks did President Obama appoint to his cabinet? Do we not have fewer Amerian Blacks in this than in the administration of Bush and Clinton? We have the change that Obama promised in 2008–but in the wrong direction.
Seriously–America needs a stong leader who will roll-up his sleeves applying Godly Principles in negotiating with all Americans bringing us together as one nation under God. We need unity–oneness–no more devisiveness. Being a good president is a full-time job of making continuous proposals and many adjustments. That’s what it takes to bring democrats, republicans, and other groups together as one unit. That what it takes to balance our budget and spend less than our income just as I have to for my household. These three Godly principles–unity, hard work ethic, and balanced budget will be implemented by a leader who truly believes in God. Believe in God. Then employment would go up and unemployment would fall drastically. All other issues will correct themselves in due time. Thus, in conclusion, America needs a leader who believes in God!

This picture here is beautiful. We should rally and vote for President Obama in November 2012. President Obama listens to concerns in Black community. Obama invites Blacks in the WH for discussions. President Obama has appointed several Blacks into government powerful positions. I remember NAACP president one day called the WH to arrange for an appointment. President Obama took the phone and asked Jealous to come in same day. No President of Us has been called by NAACP and said they could see them the same day. Herman won’t. Herman Cain calls Black people foul names. That’s not constructive dialogue. Now we know Cain friends: TEA Party, GOP, FoxNews, Rush, Karl Rove, Morris, Malkin,Sean Hannity, Crowley, Varney and other right wing morons. These hate Blacks, Mexicans, poor whites, women and now OWS. I do not think Blackworld needs Cain and his friends. Let’s vote to re-elect President Obama in November 2012.

In follow-up to your participation in our recent celebration of colonial
American hero, Benjamin Banneker’s historic birthday celebration at the
House of the Temple, the national headquarters of the Scottish Rite Masons,
founded by Albert Pike, and built by John Russell Pope who also designed the
National Archives, National Portrait Gallery and Thomas Jefferson Memorial,
among his many other amazing venues. The following is in response to a
blogger who apprised me of the efforts to educate our youth by th President
of the University of Maryland at Baltimore, Dr. Hrabowski [see below]:
Thanks for sharing that info with me. I had caught part of that story on
television, but not it in its entirety. This is so incidental too, as Dr. Hrabowski
and I have a lot in common. I was born in a small town in AL, have been a
civil rights activist all my life, and just presented a program last week entitled
“An Evening at the House of the Temple Benjamin Banneker Birthday Celebration”
which launched our “Dialogue on Race in America” series featuring Meyerhoff’s
son-in-law, Dr. Bob Hieronimus, along with Dr. Boyce Watkins as our Special
Guest Panelists.
Unfortunately, our Banneker Memorial effort is viewed as inconsequential and
frivolous, and we get no funding; and have been under siege by very powerful
entities who not only want to usurp the Banneker Memorial site, at the end of
the half mile corridor sandwiched between Smithsonian Castle at its northern
entrance at 10th & Independence Ave., SW, WDC, and its southern end which
terminates at Banneker Overlook Park [the apex of this much sought after, future
half mile gateway, ranked #1 unbuilt upon site in America].
The southern end of this promenade corridor is located directly across the
street from the new $2 billion southwest waterfront renovation currently underway.
Luxury condos, restaurants, cultural offerings, cafes, night life, etc. will grace this
six block wide major waterfront circa 2016.
Couple the highly valuable location of Banneker Overlook Park, which our
agency has endeavored for the past 15 years to upgrade to a world class
Living Memorial, replete with the Benjamin Banneker Institute of Math &
Science as a prestigious academy designed to train youth from ages seven
on up and through to college and job placement.
Yet, we are thought of in terms of the 15 year effort that needs to go away
versus being supported not only for the value of our work; but also taking
into consideration that our agency secured a $138 million U.S. Dept. of Transp.
TEA21 grant in January, 2000, after three years of lobbying for its overhaul
to make way for the Banneker Memorial. That major renovation has been
underway for eleven years now. Our agency, the Washington Interdependence
Council, are the facilitators of that massive overhaul.
The truth of the matter is, rather than being supported for our 15 years of
work in upgrading the site and endeavoring to finally honor Banneker with
a befitting commemorative site at the current one, which is the first memorial
honoring an African-American within what’s called the “monumental core” of
the nation’s capital, the most coveted and prestigious are, we are literally under
seige by greedy developers, their henchmen and others to prevent us from
succeeding. This orginal memorial was dedication to Banneker in 1971. We
celebrated its 40 year anniversary this year, and honored the noted writer
and historian, Mrs. Louise Hutchinson, for spearheading it establishment.
Every effort has been made to smear, slander, ostracize, impoverish and destroy
me short of killing me for this site has taken place; and I thought I was taking on
a project that everyone could support and buy into as a long overdue, win-win
historic preservation and cultural offering. Naive me.
However, it seems that old traditions to prevent the breath and scope of truth
about Banneker’s comprehensively mind boggling contributions to America
and the world from being known are still very much in play, coupled now with
the added little more current problem of location, location, location.
Banneker’s contributions to society are way more far reaching and trailblazing
in scope than is commonly known to 90% of the people. Some so amazing
that even we do not discuss them publicly. Banneker literally changed the course
of history in terms of the beneficiary gifts he gave America and the world to an
extent that there is still a propensity for the “powers that be” to want to keep a
lid on him, his gifts and value, even 205 years since his transition.
My professional background is marketing. Marketing is basically the control
of one’s action’s via programming of the subconscious mind. The subconscious
mind controls one’s thoughts, and, more importantly, one’s actions. Therefore,
the use of status symbols, inculcation of value systems and images are very,
very important. Perhaps this is why America still rejects honoring Banneker
in a way that really speaks to his legacy. Blacks would feel proud if they only
knew their history in areas other than chattel slaves, or beasts of burden as
we have been erroneously programmed to think of our Ancestors as.
The power that a befitting Banneker Memorial at its current site, as a world
class status symbol, honoring this great American hero for the unimagineable
contributions he gifted America, not only as a scientific genius, but also as a
Founding Father of the this country, same as George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson and Ben Franklin, would be very benificial in spurring African-American
and all youth to believe that they can master the STEM disciplines. They would
actively compete to be accepted at the Benjamin Banneker Institute of Math &
Science Technology at a prestigious waterfront location in the nation’s capital.
At this critical time in the social order, America needs to forgo the three century
cover up and to do right not only by Banneker for playing a key role in salvaging
the establishment of Washington, DC as the new “Federal City” and capitol, helping
to advance this country on many fronts, but also by all African-Americans who have
been extraordinarily instrumental in areas of invention and the building of this nation.
It is the right thing for America to do to properly honor Banneker, but its obsession
with not acknowledging our roles, the thankless major roles we, as descendants
of enslaved people, have made in the rapid ascendancy and prosperity of this
nation is essential at this point in time is crucial as America is now only marginally
in a position as world leader.
Let’s face it, technology dominates every aspect of the social order now, and
America, at this point and time, is by no means leading the pack in this area.
In essence, it is high time for America to face up to its issues on race, to stop with
the denial and cover up of systemic racism and oppression of the disenherited
or we all will suffer the consequences of this dated, no-win, policy.
We need to bring the longest, most deserved, based on our contributions, citizens
into the fray as fully entitled citizens of the country we played a major role in
building. Fact is, the oppression of our history in creating the success that this
country has benefited from is no good for anyone. In doing so, it could be the
Light that takes the world to the spiritual New World Order versus the cataclysmic
self-destructive one.
As the general election date comes nearer and nearer, the White House is painfully aware that they have created a serious enthusiasm gap with the rank and file members of the black communities across America. Just as the Republicans have been busy as beavers passing VOTER SUPPRESSION laws in over 30 states around the nation; the Obama administration has is likewise guilty of SUPPRESSING VOTER ENTHUSIASM throughout black communities. The latest attempt to do a PR reach out to the black community by the White House (WH) consists of a WH web site and several scheduled meetings with WH staff people and the professionnal elite of who’s who in black America. This is great photo-op stuff but trust me, it will do little to capture the attention of the average black voter across America. In point of fact this sham White House African American policy tactic is typical benign neglect policy that I would expect from from a President Mitt Romney, or a President John MvCain. It further shows just how out of touch Barack Obama is with the average black man on the streets of America. Just as Ebony, Jet and Essence magazines have faded in relevant importance to the black community, Barack Obama as President is likewise fading.
The question is simply one word, RELEVENCE? As Les McCann phrased it decades ago, “Trying to make it real? Compared to what?” This is the point that the white folks over in the Obama WH are missing when they read the latest Obama popularity polls among African American (AA) voters. You will always get a feedback of a high “likeability” number, possibly better than 92%, on any survey that is run in the AA community designed to provide a metric for the President’s rating among African Americans. There is nothing wrong with this number as all of us in the AA community have strong warm love for the entire Obama family. But this has little meaning in respect to the political enthusiasm for Obama that is necessary to guarantee the highest turn out of African American voters in the 2012 presidential election. In order to secure that guarantee you have to have local organizations throughout the black communities who are willing to work like they did in 2008 from door to door to get the vote OUT!! Remember GOTV in 2008?
Unfortunately, President Obama does not have such an organizational network. In 2008 ACORN was responsible for getting out the Democratic vote in a number of large urban areas. But today in 2011 the Republicans have effectively driven ACORN out of business, so this resoource is no longer available for the Obama campaign.
(Just a note here, the Obama WH had an opportunity to have preserved ACORN, had Obama acted immediately after he was sworn into office. Recognizing the tremendous number of votes delivered by ACORN, Obama should have made arrangements to get professional managemant counselers into an association with the organization to keep it viable and operational. Even when the Republicans jumped on ACORN with a slew of phony charges the Obama WH was silent and just let Congress enact illegal restrictive legislation against ACORN. This was the first mistake made by Obama. He ignored cardinal rule number 1 in politics, which is PROTECT YOUR BASE!)
The second failure of the Obama WH was the failure to make sure some stimulus money actually flowed into the black community. The shameful fact is not a single contract has been awarded to any AA company in any black community resulting from the passage of the WH’s economic stimulus package. So how can you expect black folks, suffering under unemployment levels above 20%, to get excited about Barack Obama’s re-election when no targeted resources from his WH has ever flowed into any black community in America. Sure, black folks will ultimately share in the benefits of the generalized legislation that originated from the Obama WH, such as the Health Care bill and several others. But if you want voter enthusiasm you have to create it by providing visible results of targeted action occuring in voter communities.
In summary, considering that the Republicans have installed voter suppression lasws in 30 states, you will need DOUBLE the AMOUNT of African American voter enthusiasm from that of 2008 in order to balance out the Republican legislative roadblocks to Democratic voting already in place. I am personally very sorry but a WH African American web site is like trying to bail out the ocean with a 5 gallon pail….

As a Black man I always wondered and criticized others, especially the white community, for saying that Blacks are always complaining no matter what. Again, here we are responding to an article that was posted to gain attention. Here we go again with, “he’s not Black enough and doesn’t care about the Black community.” This is what we have and it could be a lot worse! This country will NEVER elect Minister Farrakhan or Rev. Al Sharpton. As I said before, if this president is re-elected, he will SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST! This is why Mitch McConnell is so hell-bent on making him a ONE TERM President! He knows that President Obama will take care of the Black community in his second term. Look @ the entire picture instead of focusing on “what can you do for us NOW.” These same Blacks, prior to the 08 election, said that, “it’s going to take him more than 4yrs. to fix this mess.” Now here we have them complaining after 3yrs. about his policies are taking too long and he doesn’t care about us. What will they (white America) do, not vote for in 2016?
Between envy and being impatient, this is why we can never level playing field. It’s people like the authors on this site who are filled with envy and are complete attention seekers.
If we run this man out office via this foolish article, then I give up! I could care less about what happens in our community, because people like the ones on this post will ALWAYS hold Black Americans back!

we all have issues with the president…he is a politician…therefore boyce should be objective in his critques to show leadership and to ensusre cohensiveness in the black political movement in this racist america.

I agree with much of what is said and adding that white/Jewish controlled media continues to exclude or include in stereotypical use of black people on TV and the movie industry. Every story, drama, comedy, family, special or what have you is white, sometime with that token negroe/negroes in the background or sidekick to some white person. We’re even tokens in the sports booths of the sports we dominate. We keep forgetting that the president is bi-racial, raised to know racism from a white environment in grew up in, being called names from white america as well as black america. Racism is very much alive and running in the good ol’ USA and if you believe in God believe that. The President knows how those people mind work, different time, another generation, same white folk.
Lets try this. This is America. You are a American citizen. In your home and with family gatherings if you want to be African American then do that,its your right. But outside of your home just try being a American. You may discover something very interesting. It appears that people in this country have desperately tried to gain some sort of edge on others because of some connection they have to another culture. For those that don’t choose to realize that they gave up the cultures when they left there country of orgin and found themselves with a American citizenship. African American,Hispanic American,German American, Korean American, Egyptian American, Indian American and I could go on all day long. You are a AMERICAN. There is strength in just being a American, in all these small groups you will continue to feel the power of the Majority because we are so stupid we refuse to Unite as Americans. and challenge the Majority from a stronger position. They know they have us hood wicked because we think our individual smaller groups are better than each other. Divide and stay concorded. There is no Black Agenda and none of the other ethinic group have one either that really means anything out side of the home where they live. Dream as you will it will never happen under this flag. 200 years of history should be enough to drive that point home to anyone. If you really want to do something to change your circumstance and this is for all minority groups. Clean up your communities. Get rid of your drug pushers and gangs and start decreasing the population of the massays prisons where they are staying rich of the free labor of all the minority groups. You can’t relate to your President because you are buried in a world of nonsense that will never be realized in the United States of America. Go and get three more college degrees and this will never change because your approach to what you see as a problem is not real life. Just like that Super Committee in Washington right today trying to solve a debt problem and they haven’t stopped spending money yet. The damage done by Americas Financial Industry and enginered from Wall Street is so devestating they can’t come up with a number because we aren’t done yet. Give them any number you can think of and I guarantee you Congress will be requesting a extention of those funds before the middle of next year. Dr Bouce I like this site and admire your courage for creating it. But your focus needs to be changed. Where you are going you will only have disappointment at the end of the journey. Black men don’t know how to support each other because we have been taught jealousy by a master planner and we got the system down pat. MLK took it with him when he died and we don’t have the inner strength to pull it together. Hell man we even have Blacks that think they are Republicans. Now really, HOW SICK IS THAT?
Well Obama represents the white man. This is a strange plot, now when you face the white man, he sends a few niggas to confront you. Same with Obama. He does most of his crap in defense of the white man and most of what he does is against Africa, and against black people in general, but you won’t see it just because Obama is half black and raise by black white people. Mike, the question you need to ask is, ” What has Obama done for Blacks”? If you care to do any research you will find he has willingly addressed issues specific to many other minorities, Native Americans, Illegals crossing the boarder, he put a Hispanic and another white woman on the Supreme Court while overlooking and ignoring many qualified Black women as usual, he hosted several conferences with Latinos/Hispanics especially supporting them getting large amounts of funding in the nonprofit sector benefiting their specific issues, pass the Lily Ledbetter(white) Law that supposedly will benefit Blacks by us catching a crumb mentality, all the while Obama continued to ignore Black issues until being forced to address us and is now only doing it to be re-elected.
