Mo’Nique isn’t sitting to the side in the battle for Marriage equality. She has done a video to show her support for the campaign for gay marriage, as well as a national educational initiative from the Human Rights Campaign.
“I believe since we’ve all been given free will, let’s use our will to let others be free,” she says. “Gay and lesbian couples, they believe in commitment, family and love. If you don’t believe me, did you happen to notice that all that’s being asked for is the right to be married, which ironically promotes commitment, family and love? Join me and support marriage equality. It’s the right thing to do.”
The Americans for Marriage Equality campaign started last week with a video intro from Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, New Jersey. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of marriage equality and to fight on many fronts: in the courts, in legislatures, and in the voting booth. The campaign intends to use individuals in various demographics who support the concept of marital equality, including African Americans, Republicans, Latinos, etc.
