A new Android app inspired by the Occupy Wall Street/Occupy Everywhere crowd now lets you tweet your loved ones or your lawyer to let them know the local constables are carting you away.
The maker of the app, Jason Van Anden, said he knew there was a need for an app that would alert friends to an arrest after his business partner’s girlfriend was picked up by authorities at Occupy Wall Street in New York City earlier this month.
According to Van Anden in a San Francisco Chronicle article, “(I realized) it would be really good in a situation like that if they could broadcast the situation. It is awesome to contribute something to people who are speaking their minds.”
